Frequently Asked Questions

What does a Certified Legal Document Preparer do?
A Certified Legal Document Preparer is certified by the Arizona Supreme Court to prepare legal documents at your direction, without the supervision of an attorney. I organize the information you give me, prepare the correct forms for your matter, review them for completeness and explain the general procedural steps for signing and filing. I cannot give legal advice, recommend a strategy or represent you in court.
Is AZ Diamond Docs a law firm?
No. AZ Diamond Docs, LLC is a Certified Legal Document Preparer practice, not a law firm, and I am not an attorney. I prepare documents at your direction based on the information you provide. If your matter turns out to need legal strategy or courtroom representation, I will tell you plainly so you can speak with an attorney.
Does AZ Diamond Docs provide legal advice?
No. I cannot tell you which option to choose, predict how a judge will rule, or advise you on the merits of your case. What I can do is explain what each form is for, what information it asks for and what the general filing steps look like. That distinction is what keeps my work within what a Certified Legal Document Preparer is permitted to do.
How much does document preparation cost?
Document preparation is quoted as a preparation fee for the specific documents you need, and you will know that fee before any work begins. Current prices by service are listed on the pricing page. Court filing fees, service fees, postage and other third-party costs are separate and are paid to those agencies directly.
What information should I bring?
Bring photo identification, the full legal names and current addresses of everyone involved, and any court paperwork you have already received or filed. For family matters, dates such as a marriage date or children’s birthdates are helpful; for record relief, bring whatever case numbers and disposition paperwork you have. If something is missing, we will make a short list of what to gather and continue from there.
How long does document preparation take?
Most document sets are prepared within a few business days once I have all of the information and records I need from you. More involved matters take longer, and I will tell you the expected turnaround when we go over what you need. Timelines after filing are set by the court and are outside of my control.
Do court filing fees appear in the listed price?
No. The listed price covers document preparation only. Court filing fees, process server or sheriff fees, postage, recording fees and other third-party costs are additional and are set by the court or agency rather than by my office. I will tell you which of those costs to expect for your matter so nothing comes as a surprise.
How do I schedule an appointment?
Call the office at (520) 528-0376, email info@azdiamonddocs.com, or use the scheduling page on this site. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and evening or weekend appointments are available by request. Let me know what kind of document you need so I can set aside the right amount of time.
